Let's say I want to sue my place of employment for sexual harrassment (I'm a girl and it's a bunch of guys... specifially the 2 owners and 6 managers). Does anyone know of any lawyers or advocacy groups located and/or servicing the Austin area I should speak to?

I am not starting this up again. I just wanted to say a few things. All in all I am so happy nowadays. I have a great boyfriend (seriously, the total package: cute, strong, always opens doors, pays for me, smart, goes out of his way to do things for me like driving to Walgreens at midnight when he has class the next morning to go get me medicine), I have good grades (except calculus of course lol), TONS of new friends, I'm always busy, lots of cute new clothes, great dorm room (more or less), and everything else is really going well. Like I said, though the occasional thing might go wrong, I'm satisfied with my life right now.

Did you know that itching on your palms is a sign of insanity?

Just to recap:
1. in Pharr, Texas I got sick
2. Last week I get put on amoxicillin because of the bacteria on my tonsils
3. Tuesday my doctor takes my blood, confirms that I am not anemic but (and I quote) "it's like, whoah, she has mono"
4. Tuesday night I'm recovered enough (after a whole week) to leave the house
5. Wednesday night I get little red spots all over my stomach
6. Thursday I wake up to find that I am completely covered in little red spots, turns out I'm allergic to amoxicillin and I'll be like this for the next few days

What's in store for this medical nightmare (ie me)?
Tonsillectomy! if the next round of antibiotics don't work

Speaking of, 9 days until I am 18! eeee!

Thanksgiving was good. Mandatory "family bonding time". Tried out white wine in the cranberry sauce this year. Made a total mess of the kitchen. Jonathon and Rachel showed up, stole my computer, looked at my history attempting to see what "adult websites" (none, don't even think about it) I go to.

The real story centers around what I'm thankful for this year: Not living with my siblings. Seriously, if I did I would probably have an eating disorder and many, many nervous twitches. Today we saw Harry Potter (we= Jimmy, Jonathon, Juli, James, Rachel, my mom, and me). These are the highlights of that:
1. Jonathon and Jimmy make awkward jokes to the babysitter
2. Despite the fact that Jimmy's bmw had plenty of room for all of us, we took the pilot, meaning that on the way back I was (literally) shoved into the back next to the car seat and stroller
3. In the theater many remarks were made by everyone
a. Jimmy yelled "Harry Potter!" before every single trailer
b. Juli loudly proposed to set me up with one of the guys in front of us
c. During the movie, my mom kept asking questions about the most irrelevant parts of the movie
4. Juli and James (I was between them for some reason) kissed over me
5. They threw popcorn and skittles, keep in mind that all of them are over 23 years old

I love my family a lot, and owe them my life practically. And don't get me wrong, these are some of the most responsible and successful people you could meet. But still, you can't blame me for being incredibly embarrassed the entire time.

In dallas. We arrived about 15 minutes ago, I changed out of my shorts, and promptly too advantage of a comfy chair in the entry room where the wireless connection is good. James and Juli are both teaching lessons. Nothing like the mixing of french horn and flute and piccolo to cause a migraine. The drive was okay. It was my first time to drive in Dallas (my mom always makes me switch in Hillsboro), and so the past 3.5 hours were filled with "jenna don't go over 60 mph!" and "jenna, your music is too loud!" and (my favorite) "let me give you some advice about life...". But I got to stop at the Czech Stop (Pritchard never stopped on the way to tournaments) and my mom bought me Starbucks.

Anita and I are currently discussing the fact that I haven't seen her since June. That's really sad. In fact, I haven't seen any of my non-westwood and non-debate friends in a really long time. For example:

I also decided to compile a list of checkpoints for anyone who ever drives to Dallas. After having made the trek so often, i've started to utilize them:

The lesson Juli's teaching just finished and she's talking to the mother of the high school girl in front of me. Usual convo whenever we're both around people: you guys look alike... almost twins!. In fact, the minute I walked in the house the woman says, "My daughter was just wondering whether or not you're twins". At least I didn't get, "Is she your mother?" I'm still waiting for everyone to finally confess that Juli is, in fact, my mother and not my extremely old sister.

You know, strawberry frosted doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts are excellent. I think I've been secretly in love with them for about 10 years. I also noticed yesterday that practically every debater takes European History (I'm such a conformist). Non-westwood debaters in Euro include: Brittany, Peter, Ben, Russell, probably John, etc. Georgetown gets take home quizzes and Stony Point doesn't know what curve packets are. Are we being exploited at Westwood?

I also really enjoy the Rufus Wainwright cover of the Beatles' song "Across the Universe" (hence the title of this entry). It's so calm and majestic, though Rufus' sideburns disturb me.

Two days of school this week. Hopefully I can convince my mom to leave early on tuesday for Dallas, so we can miss the traffic. Especially considering she expects me to drive there. There is no way I'm doubling the travel time just to finish watching "Dead Poet's Society" in English. Apparently my sister and brother-in-law are part of the orchestra for "The Nutcracker", so we have to see that while in Dallas. At least it's an excuse for me to wear my super-fun tulle skirt.

I was inspired during english class to explain the meaning behind my username. No one's inquired about it for about 4 years, but just in case someone wanted to know:

In 7th grade science class (back when Aneal was not quite the sexy guy he is now), Caitlin Gilmore was grading my mitosis homework. At one point she turned around and pointed to a blank where I was supposed to write "parent cell". Instead of the correct answer, as I had thought I had written, I wrote "numble". Neither of us knew where that had come from. Seriously, it sounds made up. But for a brief period in the 8th grade people occasionally called me the numbler. (I'm sure no one remembers that). Then in 10th grade (3 years after I "made it up", I finally decided to look up the word "numble" in the dictionary, just in case it was an actual word. This was after I learned that there is a word "darkle" which means to get darker. And "numble" was an actual word. No, "numbles" is. It means deer entrails. Lovely, eh?


Tonight is the tournament. I always get excited when I get to see everyone again. Westwood would be so much cooler if all my friends went here. (not that my ww friends aren't cool). Plus today I get to see Joey. I hope the Round Rock guys don't make fun of me when I practically jump him. That stupid boy has not visited me in 4 months.

Vassar emailed me about an alumnus interview. Ever since I talked to the vice-president of Cadbury-Schweppes I've started to doubt Vassar. It's a well known school, but if he was right about it being an all-lesbian school (as much as Pritchard scoffed at that), I'm having second thoughts. I'm not homophobic or anything, but who would I talk to about boys? He's probably not true, but then again, Jon Cruz (the guy who got me interested in Vassar) is gay, so there's got to be some truth to it.

Debate tournaments are all unique.
1. Grapevine- ghetto motel, telling my judge to vote for me because i was hotter than cody and not winning
2. Memorial- houston debaters suck, convincing Babb to draw pictures on the ballot, explaining to the judges in octos about how much I hate it when judges take too long to make their decision in elims to have Babb exclaim, "Oh! I was just doodling...", breaking 2 trophies, bus accident
3. St. Mark's- wandering around Dallas late at night in a blanket, "Oh I'm fully clothed!", chewing on a coke can, fire drill late at night, trying to convince Nick Kalla to do the robot in his 1AC
4. SFA- making Ben go to Emerald's, argument with Babb about who was a tool, assuring my octos judge I didn't think he was a creepy child molester
5. Hendrickson- gossip with the Stony Point coach, Kerbey Lane with Manon, driving around in a circle for 45 minutes before finally calling someone, sick puppy pt. 4

With that being said, I'm upset about the end of the tournament. Losing to Cody Gray AGAIN is disconcerting, especially because I was prepped out for his case. His coach is such a bitch, though. He was late to quarters and she walks in, and this is the convo btwn the judge and her:

Coach: How about we actually have a flip now that both opponents are here?
Judge: It's up to Jenna if she wants to forfeit her decision
Me: I don't mind
Coach: I've never heard of a tournament not flipping without both kids present
Judge: It's nice if both opponents show up to their round
Coach: Cody was in extemp
Judge: Extemp has been over for a while now

Oooooh burn! He's right. Cody was sitting in the cafeteria. I even yelled at him to come to the round, but he just sat there. GOD he's such a JERK. jerk jerk jerk jerk jerk. His stupid emo glasses. His shortness. His ugly pink backpack. His hobbit-like hands. Peter Christie from his team is so nice, but Cody is awful.

On my way home I bought two expandofiles and I'm going to write at least 30 blocks this week, as well as a new neg. Yes, I have to get to semis at Round Rock next weekend. So I have to be prepared, because there'll be 57 people in my division and some of them are very good. I'm also going to read

So in english Adam read his poem by Whitmann and it had the word "hymen" in it. Well, apparently half the class didn't know what that meant because Andy Liu asked me about it, and then some dictionaries circulated throughout the room so people could look it up. Then Andy (now knowing what it meant) asked me if I had one. OMG what? You don't ask people about that sort of thing. And then constantly afterwards he kept making little statements like "I knew what the slang meant" and such. It was so funny/creepy I laughed so hard that I cried.

SFA. The first local tournament for me of the year.
Friday: Took Ben to Emerald's and bought a really cool shirt I will wear to school on monday. I took the opportunity to expose him to Sigur Ros and we discussed talented musicians in the car. Round 1 I hit a novice, but as I was speaking and facing the door, Babb kept peeking in and smiling which hurt my concentration. Round 2 I hit Tristan from stupid Churchill and made a stupid mistake. Coling seemed pained to give Tristan the win. I also watched a speech during Vish and Allen's 2nd round, which was amusing.

Saturday: SAT subject tests didn't end until 11:20. When I walked in the room of 10 kids taking a listening test, I was surprised to see that David Westwood was in the room and sitting next to me (most WW kids were at Anderson). Sadly, his CD player malfunctioned and he couldn't take the spanish with listening, so he had to sit there for 80 minutes with nothing to do. Because the tournament started at 11:30 and I was in Round Rock I ran to my car, only to find out I had plenty of time because I was flight B. Round 3 was easy despite some confusion and my mental fog. Round 4 I lost to a girl I could easily beat, which was very upsetting. Ended up breaking bottom seed as a 2-2 with high speaks. Before my round (hitting Tristan...again) I clarified with Kris Wright (who was judging me) that I was sure he wasn't creepy and that I knew the rumors of him having relations with young girls was not true. Then we had a nice chat with Babb, where I learned why he decided to go to Baylor and his defeat at the TOC. He also re-reviewed my ipod, declaring I was a tool for listening to tool (hence the title). Anyways I lost and went to Whole Foods to buy some comfort food/samosas and jamaican lemonade.

Today=homework day and my sick day.

Mean advice on the packs of gushers my mom bought: (it actually says this)
1. Take a large stick and scratch at your friend's window while he's sleeping
2. Put ice cubes down their shirt
3. Wet your hand with water, pretend to sneeze and sprinkle the water on people nearby
4. Make them smell your socks
5. Hide a walkie-talkie in their room and pretend you're the ghost of someone famous

Anyways Adam apologized today. That was nice of him. He's nice when he's not saying randomly mean things. In government I now have the best seat in the class. I'm against a wall so I can relax and she can't see me when she's lecturing/telling us to highlight everything. But today I was leaning my head against the wall and hit the temperature control, which hurt.

Today's the debate tournament. I'm taking Ben shopping at Emerald's before the tourney since it's next to SFA HS. Ben doesn't realize it's a very girly (but cool) store yet. In fact, I bet he forgot we're going. HAHAHAHAHAHA! I love how I'm not worried about this tourney. I'll worry in semis. But I'm sitting here, updating my itunes playlist, and making new mixes. One is entitled "badass mix", then there's "fun mix", "jenna's favorite mix", "the new jenna mix" and "skippy gets a cd". BTW Skippy, I still have your X&Y sitting in my garage on a shelf. And you still have cds I want to upload onto my itunes. Because as of now I only have 500 songs.

I wrote my aff case today. It's so sexy. OMG, nothing like obscure philosophers that say everything exactly like you want. This weekend will be a bloodbath whenever I go affirmative. Negative, though, still needs major work.

Today was warm. It should snow. That would be awesome. Then I could listen to Coldplay and Sigur Ros without feeling guilty.

The euro test wasn't bad. The 100 questions made me feel lethargic afterwards, but besides the mental fog I think I got an A.

Hot Junior and HEG are friends. I saw them today at Fazoli's eating lunch together. Jackie will comment on this observation, I am sure.

Such a short entry today.

I thoroughly enjoyed homecoming for all the wrong reasons:

#1 Cameron called me when I was coming back from washing my car and buying the new Pinback cd to borrow my pants. Yes, that's right, Cameron wore my pants to homecoming.

#2 Iron Cactus was a good restaurant. I love how we forced the waitress to bring out the dessert tray but didn't get dessert (even though I really wanted some gellato)

#3 Robert and I were slow dancing, and he asked me if we could talk about why we broke up WHILE WE WERE DANCING. It was so infuriating (especially because he was shorter than me when I was wearing my heels and so I couldn't enjoy myself) that I walked away in the middle of the dance and pissed him off. He spent the rest of the dance (untill we left) ignoring me and dancing with these 3 fat junior chicks. Yes, that's a good thing.

#4 Ellie didn't really dance that much so Neal kept asking me to dance. He could actually dance decently once he was actually serious. But as Jennifer said, we both dance so white.

#5 There was this chain of like 5 people (4 girls and 1 guy) grinding. It was really amusing because the guy was on the end and didn't look like he was enjoying himself as much as his girlfriend was enjoying the girl in front of her.

#6 My dress went over well and Manny looked so cute in hers! And Ben was adorable with his girlfriend! And Evan dances like my dad!

#7 The dance was at the Austin Music Hall, which is the place amazing bands like Sigur Ros play at

Last night wins the award for most awkward car ride home possible. Nothing like having the date you ditched (it was mutual though) drive you 30 minutes to your house. Very little talking occurred, until he wanted to discuss whether or not I was interested in Neal. Apparently he used to hate going to lunch with Neal and I together because we have more in common than I do with him. Kinda funny. I just love how things turned out last night. And also that I got 3 of my college apps sent in. Ahhhh actually I'm scared about that because there's so much riding on those things.

I've decided I have no luck with guys. Not even bad luck, just no luck whatsoever. Robert's friend imed me asking about why I haven't been giving Robert enough attention lately, to which I replied that I felt justified seeing as I BROKE UP WITH HIM. ahhh. !! ! !!! ! If that wasn't bad enough, I'm starting to realize that out of the at least 5 guys that I'm interested in and willing to pursue a relationship with, absolutely none of them would ever ask me out. Josh and I had a long talk about whether or not this warrants me joining a convent or becoming a lesbian. At this point I wish I hadn't had any relationships because I've experienced everything from a guy trying to take advantage of me to having to threaten police intervention. *sigh*

My mom and sister looked at my college essays and said they were shit. I don't really trust their opinion, but I did expect them to at least notice my descriptiveness in the first one.

As I need to make this entry not quite as depressing, I can say that I am looking forward to wearing my dress tomorrow. I tried it on tonight with the shoes I'm wearing and I looked like my legs were really long, which is something I don't often see. I also had a nice visit with my dad and he seemed almost proud of my college application process, as opposed to his usual obstinate practicality. Third good thing that happened today was I found out the starbucks gift card my sister gave me has $50 on it, so I will be able to get alll the soy chai i want. Oh and I also got a 14 on my euro quiz, which I thought I completely failed.

Yeah. I'll be positive when i get some sleep.

I quit my job today. Frankly I got tired of staring at baby's clothes. Why does a 2 month old child need a merino wool cardigan or a taffeta silk opera gown? And what idiotic parent would spend $150 clothing his or her child in such a garmet? And if everything's so damn expensive in there, why do I only make $6.75 an hour?

Today in English we watched "Princess Mononoke" which reminded me of the fact that Robert's obsessed with Anime. The movie was so weird. I mean, some girl in it chewed some beef jerky and then spit it into a guy's mouth. What perverted, middle-aged Japanese man was on enough LSD to animate this scene?

I also realized today in government while watching some girl named Caitlin rummage through her bag to find her notes to cheat on a quiz that was worth a DAILY GRADE. God, if you're going to cheat, at least put your things in an accessible place so it's not too obvious. Additionally, I still manage to get better grades than her and she's looking at the answers!

Last thing that caught my attention today: PDA. Maybe I've read too much Focault and Dali to like PDA, but seeing Paul Lee and Jennifer Kim in my english class every day practically defiling one another is sickening. Today he had his hand in between her legs and she was wearing a skirt. Pallavi and I were freaking out the whole class. Granted that's nothing compared to watching Adam Shaack and Sam Garrison attack each other during presentations. Especially that one time Adam's shirt thing came undone and he was wearing spandex shorts and you could see EVERYTHING. Oh my eyes still burn! I must confess that he has nicer legs than me. That's kind of depressing.

So today I was supposed to go to work from 5-7:30. I was also supposed to be usher at the NHS induction ceremony from 6-8. What did I choose? NHS. My mom made some off-hand comment about how honor societies are all about being responsible, but I'd choose to see all the little juniors get their yellow cords at the expense of my job any day. Tomorrow I have to work as well, and I'll probably get fired. No. They won't fire me. They're shorthanded anyways. Hahahaha diminished workforce good for integrity.

Today I noticed how much I hate my euro class. Most days I can tolerate it because Saenz leads the class and we all participate in some pseudo-egalitarian IB-mandated environment (more-or-less). But when we are given "work days" I wish I had brought my iPod to school more than anything. Or that I could sleep in class. Or that I was in 1st block euro. On one side there's the sleep-deprived, massochistic juniors and on the other you have the seniors (all guys except for the autistic Sarah). Poor Jenna is thrown to the lions in instances like these.

I also noticed today that despite the moderately enforced dress code at Westwood and the fact that it was 41 degrees outside when I left my house in the morning, girls still manage to wear the SKIMPIEST skirts possible. It's disgusting, really. Or at least just impractical. I swear if I wasn't so obsessed with guys I would probably join a convent so I wouldn't have to see another obese chick with her stomach hanging over the tiny piece of fabric tied around her waist.

Besides these lovely rants today was significant because it was the first day after I broke up with Robert. For some reason I have the worst luck with guys possible. This time I break up with him very maturely and he immediately calls all of my friends to find out what my interests are. You'd think he'd know that considering he dated me for 2 months... Anyways today he made me go to lunch with him to discuss our relationship (but Neal and Jennifer ended up tagging along hahahaha) and he (of course) brought the Mercedes. Dear Robert, I DON'T CARE WHAT CAR YOU DRIVE IT WON'T MAKE ME INTERESTED IN YOU...I've driven a ferrari, I've driven a Porsche, I've driven a lake yacht, IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME. Then, as he drops me off at my car after lunch he pulls out a boquet of flowers as he attempts to be cool about it. I refuse the flowers because YOU CAN'T MAKE ME FALL FOR YOU WITH MATERIAL POSESSIONS YOU SUPERFICIAL TOOL. !!!! God and tomorrow I have spanish with him. I can't wait...

I've been in Lexington, Kentucky for almost 3 weeks now and it's very interesting. Here's what's been happening to the best of my recollection:

Tuesday, June 21st- Spent 2 hours in the Chicago Airport and saw many a cute boy. Immediately hated the hell-hole that is my dorm room.
Wednesday, June 22nd- Got to know the metrosexual boy I met at the Lexington Airport. His name is Michael and he's from Nebraska and he's a vegan/feminist/etc.
Thursday, June 23rd- Out of sympathy because my roomie is kinda weird, Caitlyn (Wellington, Florida) and Chelsea (Louisville, Kentucky) who are seniors struck up a conversation and we started hanging out.
Friday, June 24th- I don't remember what happened today
Saturday, June 25th- Had an intense card-cutting session with Michael, Caitlyn, Chelsea, Allison (junior; near Nashville, Tennessee), and Shashika (senior; Valpariso, Indiana) and talked to Suneet at Mandatory Fun
Sunday, June 26th- randomly ran into Shashika when Caitlyn and I walked to Arby's for brunch. He'd been there for 2 hours reading Mill's On Liberty. Had to write an affirmative case quickly in the library which is shaped like a panopticon.
Monday, June 27th- Had to write a negative case in under 2 hours.
Tuesday, June 28th- case revisions probably
Wednesday, June 29th- Allison, Michael, Caitlyn, and I started hanging out with some policy kids and everyone (but me) was smoking. ...I'm a goody goody
Thursday, June 30th- Allison and Dela (junior policy guy; Los Angeles, California) hooked up for the first time (and every day after that. Practice rounds started.
Friday, July 1st- Shashika and I started getting closer (as friends silly). Stumbled upon half the LDers at Pazzo's (pizza place) for dinner.
Saturday, July 2nd- Major drama between George (junior, Houston, Texas) (a redneck, yuck!) and me after Michael and Allison ditched me to go smoke accidentally. (well Allison was doing more than smoking)
Sunday, July 3rd- Caitlyn claims we ditched her on our way to Pazzo's but she came with us and left without saying anything. Essentially she spent the rest of the day pissed off
Monday, July 4th- Caitlyn was sitting on the couch in the lobby with Dillon (junior, somewhere in Indiana), Chelsea, Michael, Allison, Shashika, and me reading about "stimulating guy's nipples" when Michael told her she was making me uncomfortable. She stormed out. Stuart (senior policy debater, Colleyville, Texas) joined us and when she came back inside she overheard me say to him that she was the "nipple girl" and also thought I said a bunch of other things (all said by Michael thank you very much). So she bitched me out, except 2 staff members were behind her. One of the staff came back inside later and imitated her. "You're a bitch, you were a bitch on day one, you were a bitch on day 2, you were a bitch at states, I always knew you were a bitch!" is hilarious when said in a british accent apparently. She spent the rest of the day pissed off and alone.
Tuesday, July 5th- Stuart and I talked for a while. that's about it
Wednesday, July 6th- We had to spend like 5 hours in the library with nothing to do during practice rounds. Some guy from the University of Kentucky newspaper chose me to be "campus cutie" of the week and apparently I'm going to be in the UK newspaper next week. Hahahaha. Events also led to be throwing a disposable camera at Shashika's package. He spent 20 minutes in the bathroom. I guess I'm not such a bad aim after all.
Thursday, July 7th- OH MY GOD. Caitlyn was still moping and trying to alienate me from the group. But they seem to like me more than her so it hasn't been working out very well in her favor. The real news was that apparently I broke up with Joey or something on the phone at one point during camp. And I also um...made out with Stuart. God I'm such a bitch. It's so bad because unlike most of the people here, I'll be seeing him on a constant basis so it's not really a random camp hookup. Oops. Joey and I had a big fight that night and we aren't really talking for a while.
Today, July 8th- My roomie left today. Thank GOD. She rarely showered and when she did she'd ask me "Like, can I borrow your blowdryer?" Ugh! Don't start sentences off with "like". Idiot. Apparently the entire camp (including staff and excluding policy debaters) thinks Shashika and I are an item. Just because we were sharing a chair doesn't mean anything. Honestly, so many different people share chairs here and no one thinks anything about it. I've been in the library for about 2.5 hours now because I have no rounds today and have been downloading more songs off of iTunes. So far since camp started I've spent about $12 on songs.
